Dinar Dirham Performance Converter (DDPC) at IID 2009 UiTM

This week is the busiest week throughout the semester. Marking papers e.g:tests, conducting tests (still not finished..), updating course files, SKT and also participating IID Competition should be done and completes. IID is stand for Invention, Innovation and Design 2009. This is the first time i get involved into this competition but seriously when i looked at to the list of participants and contestants, to win it, quite difficult but not impossible. Nevertheless, this the chance for me to once again promote dinar and dirham as a correct money to be used in the future. All invited to visit there..

What is DDPC?
DDPC is a tool in measuring performances of dinar dirham compared to ringgit (RM). The basket prices of goods in the market has been converted into dinar dirham values to compare the performances of RM. In getting accurate and practical values, dinar dirham has been converted first to dollar before finally turn to ringgit.

Application
The conversion of dinar dirham (DD)-dollar-RM has been applied in Microsoft Excel and thus, it has become user friendly particularly in adjusting current values of either prices of DD, dollar, ringgit or even basket prices of good. Besides, the result of performance (in percentage) could be automatically generated once the values entered.

The impact
The government and society will become ”well informed and aware” about the current performance of dinar dirham compared to RM in transacting goods and services. They will know which goods has become more unstable (stable) in the market. This will make them to consider at least alternative mechanism (such as choosing another good) if not a system.

The potential of commercialization
A basis of DDPC card . If BNM approved it, it will become an alternative system of currency. Even though, the global market still not using it, but a country could be able to do by engaging them during transaction. The application is similar with the card applied to ”touch n go” or ”smart tag”. The difference here is in term of the value of the card. This card will automatically reduces the values of balance in dinar/dirham by just swapping it.
